People want to support your local business
How can you help people support your local business on Instagram?
It’s simple really, help people support your local business by proudly shouting out where you are located in your posts and on your profile. Neighbors can’t support you if they don’t know you exist.
Potential clients are going the extra mile to support locally owned. This means that people in your community are actively searching for your products or services.
Take me for example, I’ve pledged to do most of my gift shopping locally and I encourage anyone who will listen to do the same. If you have a reliable business in the Cowichan Valley I want to let others know about it. You’d probably find it hard to believe just how difficult it is to sometimes figure out where a business is located.
One of the ways I do that is with @ilovecowichandotca‘s Instagram posts. Here’s one of my Instagram posts shouting out Downtown Duncan BC restaurants.
For the sake of this blog post I’m going to focus on Instagram but, this advice is pretty much applicable across the board.
Notice how easy it is to see where the restaurants are located? You wouldn’t believe me if I told you how many accounts I have to scroll through to find ones with addresses.
How can you help us support your local business on social media?
Once again, it’s simple, please don’t bury the information. State where you are in your profile, posts, and hashtags. Make it obvious that you’re located in the Cowichan Valley (for example) in the fewest clicks possible.
Attention home-based business owners! Gone are the days of hiding who you really are and pretending to be something you’re not! Now is the time to wear your small business owner badge proudly, and to let people know from whence you hail 😉
